Mrs. Payne-Blevins is originally from Newton, Mississippi, and brings with her nearly two decades of dedication and excellence in the field of education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education English from Mississippi State University and later completed her master’s degree in educational leadership at the University of West Florida.
She began her teaching career as a sixth and seventh grade English teacher at Carver Middle School in Meridian, Mississippi. In 2014, she relocated with her family to Crestview, Florida, where she joined Crestview High School as an English teacher. During her time there, she has taught English across all grade levels and, for the past three years, has taught Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) General Paper, a rigorous, college-level course.
In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Mrs. Payne-Blevins has demonstrated strong leadership within her school community. She has served as the English Department Head for the past two years, actively contributed as a member of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) committee, and played a vital role on the school’s leadership team. Her commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed. She was honored as Crestview High School’s Teacher of the Year last year and was also recognized as one of the top three finalists for Okaloosa County School District’s Teacher of the Year.
Congratulations, Mrs. Payne-Blevins!
