2023-2024 New Student Registration

Welcome to the Okaloosa County School District! The first step of registering your student who is new to our District is to complete the online portion of the registration process on FOCUS.

Florida law provides that any child who will be 5 on or before September 1st is eligible for kindergarten that school year. Parents registering their students who are NEW to the district (K-12) for the 2023-2024 School Year will begin by registering in the Focus Parent Portal. You may complete this on your own device with internet access or you may use the registration kiosk in the front office of the enrolling school. Parents and Legal Guardians will need to use your child’s legal name and have a valid address. Please use the School Site Locator to see which schools you are zoned for.

If you have any questions during or about the registration process, please visit our website which includes a Q&A forum and video tutorials. You can also email or call the enrolling school with your questions. School contact numbers can be found at in the Schools link.

Students who currently attend an Okaloosa County school are automatically enrolled for the next school year and do not need to register through the portals. For more information, families can call the school at which they are seeking to register.

Controlled Open Enrollment , also known as COE, is for families who would like their student to attend a school they are not zoned to attend.

Applications for a school will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis until the school reaches capacity. Hardship Appeal forms may be submitted for schools at capacity. For more information on Controlled Open Enrollment, visit Controlled Open Enrollment.
