Amy Meyer grew up in a military family and spent most of her life in Niceville, Florida. She attended Okaloosa County School District schools and proudly graduated from Niceville High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. She began her career in education at Valparaiso Elementary School, where she taught kindergarten through second grade in self-contained Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classrooms. She later transferred to Niceville High School (NHS) and continued her work in ESE before transitioning to teaching Algebra I, Geometry, and Intensive Math, roles she found especially rewarding. She subsequently began her administrative career as Assistant Principal at Destin Elementary School and was later honored to serve as its Principal. While she has cherished her time in elementary education, Mrs. Meyer is over the moon excited to return to “the Nest” at Niceville High School, where her journey in education first began.

Kaleigh Goss, Assistant Principal – Edge Elementary School

Kaleigh Goss began her educational career after earning her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida in 2012 and later returned to UWF in 2025 to complete her master's degree in educational leadership. After teaching in Walton County, she joined Okaloosa County, where she found a community that helped shape her growth as both a teacher and a leader. With nine years of experience teaching grades K–2 at Southside Primary, Mrs. Goss developed a deep passion for strong instruction, meaningful collaboration, and effective systems that support student success. She transitioned to the role of an instructional math coach for three years supporting K–5 teachers, partnering with CPALMS, developing FAST math assessment items, presenting statewide with the Florida Department of Education, and serving on Pearson’s standards‑setting panel. Driven to expand her leadership capacity, Mrs. Goss transitioned to Shalimar Elementary School as a school counselor, building her understanding of school systems and student supports. These experiences fueled her desire to lead on a broader scale and ultimately brought her to seeking an opportunity to become an administrator.
