Edge Elementary School marked a significant milestone this week, as the school community gathered to celebrate its 100th anniversary —an evening filled with history, gratitude, and a deep sense of pride in a century of educating generations of students.
For Superintendent Marcus Chambers, the celebration held special personal significance. Both of his children began their educational journeys at Edge, walking the same halls filled with laughter, curiosity, and care that have defined this school for decades. “Edge Elementary will always hold a special place in my heart,” he shared. “This school represents everything right about public education: students who are loved and valued, teachers who are dedicated, and a community that cares deeply about its children.”
For generations, Edge Elementary has been more than a building; it has been a cornerstone of the Niceville community. Its family-centered culture, strong traditions, and unwavering commitment to student success have helped shape the lives of thousands.
The Centennial Celebration welcomed back former principals and their families, offering a meaningful opportunity to honor the leaders who helped define the school’s legacy. The event also recognized the continued work of current Principal Melissa Kearley, whose leadership carries forward Edge’s long-standing commitment to excellence.
The evening was made possible through the efforts and generosity of many partners. Special thanks go to:

Edge Elementary’s Centennial Celebration was more than a look back; it was a celebration of the values that define Okaloosa County: dedicated teachers, supportive families, strong community partnerships, and a belief in the power of education.
Here’s to 100 remarkable years, and to a bright and promising future for the Edge Elementary Tigers!
