The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) has released school grades for the 2024–2025 academic year, and the Okaloosa County School District (OCSD) is proud to once again earn an “A” rating—a continued reflection of the district’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence across all grade levels. OCSD scored a total of 793 points, marking a notable increase from 772 points in 2023–2024. Additionally, 92% of schools earned an A or B rating, up from 86% the previous year. The district also maintained a strong 88% graduation rate and achieved academic gains in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science, as well as Civics, reinforcing its standing as a high-achieving school district.
Graduation Rates by OCSD High Schools:
• Baker School – 95%
• Choctawhatchee High School – 91%
• Crestview High School – 97%
• Fort Walton Beach High School – 89%
• Laurel Hill School – 100%
• Niceville High School – 97%
In other key areas, the district recorded a 9-point gain in middle school acceleration and a 6-point increase in college and career acceleration. Acceleration points measure how effectively schools prepare students for advanced coursework by tracking participation and success in high school-level courses, industry certifications, and college credit opportunities.
Notably, Okaloosa is one of only three districts in Florida to earn an “A” rating every year school grades have been issued since 2014—a remarkable achievement that underscores the district’s deeply rooted culture of academic excellence. Okaloosa County’s success is not only reflected in academic data but also in the people who make it possible—award-winning teachers, innovative programs, courageous school leaders, and supportive families and community members who drive progress and foster student growth.
Superintendent Marcus Chambers shared: “Once again, Okaloosa County has demonstrated what is possible when students, teachers, families, and school leaders work together toward a common goal. Earning an A rating is a reflection of the high standards we hold ourselves to as a district and our shared belief in continuous improvement. I’m deeply grateful for the dedication and hard work of our teachers, staff, and administrators, whose efforts continue to make a difference in the lives of our students.”
