Van Porter HS Art Show Winner

The Van Porter Artist of the Year and Arts and Design Society (ADSO) Merit Award Art Winners were recognized on March 7th at the Arts and Design Society. This show is open to Seniors and eighth-grade students. Each student has to submit three art pieces and write a paragraph of “What Art Means to Me.” Students are judged on the body of work submitted and their written paragraphs.

Brooke Barron, Okaloosa County School District’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction presented the Van Porter Artist of the Year Award to Elaina Batarao, a senior at Fort Walton Beach High School (FWBHS), and Kiley Brantley, an eighth-grade student at Liza Jackson Preparatory School (LJPS).

Pat Roberts, ADSO, presented the ADSO Merit Art awards to students for an individual art piece.
