On Thursday, September 28, 2023, students from Okaloosa STEMM Academy, Lewis School, Fort Walton Beach High School, Crestview High School, Ruckel Middle School, Bruner Middle School, Destin Middle School, Destin High Charter School, Rocky Bayou Christian School, and Liza Jackson Charter School participated in a “Student 2 Student (S2S) Leader Summit” at Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC).
S2S is a student program that brings military and civilian students together to learn effective ways to welcome new students to their school, create a positive environment, support academic excellence, and ease transitions. The students participating in the Summit received training in many areas: becoming a positive role model/leader in their school, engaging with new students, and positively impacting their community.
