Plew ES Swears In Junior Deputies

Plew Elementary School's Junior Deputies were sworn in by Sheriff Larry Ashley on Wednesday, May 29th.  The Junior Deputies are students in the 4th and 5th grade that are tasked to provide security and safety on the sidewalk and bus ramps.

After they have provided two weeks of duty, they are awarded a Sheriff's Office Junior Deputy Badge.  To become a Junior Deputy, they must have an approval by their teachers and always be mindful of the Plew Panther Character Traits.

“I am proud of our thirty-six Junior Deputies who have worked very hard to keep our school safe and provide an outstanding example for the future upcoming Junior Deputies,” said Plew’s School Resource Officer, Deputy Clara Thomas.
