Kenwood ES Collects Pop Tabs For Ronald McDonald House

Kenwood Elementary School recently participated in the Pop Tab Pandemonium by collecting pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida in Pensacola.

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities is “to be the best available home-away-from-home and source of respite and resources for children and the families of children suffering a medical crisis.”

Collecting Pop Tabs is one of the easiest ways to help the Ronald McDonald House raise funds and make a difference in the lives of families and children who stay at the Ronald McDonald House.

Each classroom had a pop tab collection jar.  Student library workers were responsible for collecting the jars and depositing the pop tabs into the larger bottles in the Media Center.

Kenwood collected 319 pounds of pop tabs and sent a check for $175.45 to the Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola.  The grade level that collected the most pop tabs was First Grade and they had a cookie cake party on Friday, June 1st.

Thank you to all the Kenwood friends and families who sent in their pop tabs, the Kenwood PTO for purchasing the collection jars, Culligan Water Company for donating the collection bottles, and Metal Recycling of Fort Walton Beach for weighing our pop tabs.
