Introducing STEMM's newest National Junior Honor Society members! These 6th grade students exemplify the pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Congratulations to all of our Stingers on their outstanding achievements!
Mrs. Santana’s 8th Grade ELA and 6th Grade World History students recently brought learning to life through an engaging and active lesson using hacky sacks! Students participated in small-group discussions while practicing key vocabulary in a fun, hands-on way that kept everyone involved. By incorporating movement and collaboration, students strengthened both their communication skills and content knowledge.
Big congratulations to our STEMM students who rocked the Civics Bee Regional Finals this week! Out of more than 11,000 participants, Leighton, Pearson, and Holly were selected to compete, an incredible accomplishment in itself. They represented Stemm with pride, and Holly even earned a Top 5 finish at the regional level! All three students were recognized for their hard work with certificates of achievement and a brand-new iPad. We are so proud of their dedication, knowledge, and passion for bringing Civics to life!

Reminder: Spring pictures are tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14. Students may enjoy a free dress day and do not need to wear uniforms, as long as attire follows the Okaloosa School District dress code. We can’t wait to see those smiles!
Our phone service has been restored. Thank you for your patience, and have a wonderful day!
Good morning! Phones are currently down district-wide. Our provider is working to resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience and will update you when they are back up! Have a great day!
World History classes put history into motion by designing and building trebuchets! Hands-on learning, teamwork, and a little medieval engineering brought the past to life.
Mrs. Cook's Intro to Tech classes have been working on mechatronic projects, using microbits and block code to create and run programs to enliven a scene they have built. We are so impressed with what they have been able to accomplish with time pressure and limited materials.
Mrs. Santana’s 8th grade ELA students went full Socratic Circle. The inner circle lead the discussion while the outer circle delivered live feedback on the ClearTouch. Thoughtful dialogue, real-time reflection, and serious critical thinking in action.
Science classes having fun! Mrs. Mortensen's students made some discoveries in a fossil lab, and Dr. Courtney's students investigated the solubility of carbon dioxide in solution.
In FIRST Lego League, the STEMM Stingers, earned a bid to the FLL State tournament for the second year in a row! Getting to the state tournament is tough since there are only 55 teams going to the FLL State tournament out of 692 registered teams in Florida. Way to go, Stingers!
Our Hive FTC team debuted their newest robot, affectionately named the Ballistic Obliteration Missile Bunker (BOMB) at the regional tournament. They ended the day in eighth place and made it into the playoffs, which is a pretty great accomplishment when competing against so many high school teams. Unfortunately, they did not advance to state, but I'm super proud of what the team accomplished!
During Hope Week, our Care Crew spread kindness in big and small ways—passing out Lifesavers, sharing positive affirmation stickers, chalking the walk with encouraging messages, and creating worry monsters for students to surround with uplifting Post-it notes, and ended the week with a wellness walk on Friday. 💛 Together, these moments reminded everyone that hope is something we build for each other, one kind action at a time. Thank you to Miss Winkler, our Care Crew sponsor, for organizing such a fun week!
Congratulations to our Varsity and Junior Varsity Academic Teams for their outstanding performance this year. Thank you for consistently demonstrating #StingerSpirit, teamwork, and exemplary sportsmanship.

Our STEMM stingers wrapped up the first quarter with a cool treat from the Kona ice truck! It was a fun and refreshing way to celebrate everyone's hard work and end the first nine weeks with a smile!

Congratulations to our Students of the Quarter, chosen for exemplifying our Core Value of Citizenship. These students consistently show what it means to be positive members of our school -- helping others, showing respect, and making our school a better place for everyone.

We are proud to announce that Mrs. Son, our sixth grade ELA teacher, has been chosen by her peers as STEMM's teacher of the year! Her dedication, creativity, and commitment to students inspire both colleagues and learners every day. Congratulations, Mrs. Son!
