Dear Destin Elementary families and community,
February was bursting with fun, learning, and school spirit at Destin Elementary! From Hope Week and our incredible Boosterthon Fun Run to our colorful Mardi Gras Parade, Black History Month art projects, exciting field trips, and the grand opening of our brand-new playground — it was truly a month to remember. Our campus has been filled with energy, creativity, and joy!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing parents and community for your support of our Boosterthon Fundraiser. Because of your generosity and encouragement, we met our goal— raising just over an incredible $60,000 for our school! Your partnership makes such a difference for our students. As promised, Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Brown, and Mr. Telatovich will soon be celebrating with the students with a unicorn-themed day — and we cannot wait for the magical fun ahead!
We are also excited to share that several campus upgrades are in the works for both our grounds and classrooms. These improvements will help make our school an even more beautiful and inspiring place for our staff, students, and families.
Looking ahead, Field Days are quickly approaching — one of our favorite traditions of the year! Please also note that Spring Break is March 13–23. Monday, March 23 is a Teacher Workday, so students will return to school on Tuesday, March 24.
Our May testing calendar is now set. We kindly ask that you make every effort to have your child present on their scheduled testing days. Being at school on testing days helps students stay on track and avoids the need for make-up assessments at the end of the year.
We are also looking forward to our annual Talent Show! Mrs. Hayes will be sending information about auditions and practice schedules to students who are interested in participating. We can’t wait to see the incredible talents of our Dolphins on display!
This month wraps up the third quarter of the school year, and we are so proud of the amazing progress your children have made. We look forward to finishing strong in Quarter 4 and continuing to build on this momentum.
Finally, our new building is coming along beautifully and is on track to open in August 2026 to welcome our 5th graders back to campus! It is exciting to watch our school continue to grow.
Be sure to check out the March Dolphin Report for more information and a full calendar with more information!
Destin Elementary is truly Built Tough and getting Bigger, Better, and Stronger than ever! Thank you for being such an important part of our school family.
Warmest regards,
Amy Meyer, Principal, Destin Elementary
