To promote pedestrian safety awareness, the community is inviting students and VPK classrooms to participate in the Pedestrian Safety Month Poster Contest. Participants are encouraged to create a 22" x 28" poster that demonstrates how they walk safely in their community for a chance to win a $100 gift card, a certificate of recognition, and have their artwork displayed in government buildings.
Contest categories include elementary, middle, and high school students, along with a committee's choice award. VPK classrooms are also invited to submit one poster per classroom, with prizes shared among the winning class and the top five classrooms receiving a special pedestrian safety presentation from local law enforcement.
All submissions are due by Wednesday, October 14, and safety goodie bags will be available for participants.
