Spring Testing Cover

Our students have been working diligently and consistently all year long to learn the standards for their courses. We can't wait for them to show what they know. We have no doubt our Panthers will rock their state tests!

Testing Overview

Our state mandated testing will take place in two distinct batches, one in April and one in May. On April 2 and April 4, students will take the state mandated FAST Writes. Your child will test on one of these dates.

On May 2, May 6, and May 8, students will take the state-mandated FAST progress monitoring in Reading and Math, including Algebra 1 and Geometry. Your child will test on two of these dates.

For the most part, students with first period classes on the following hallways will test on the following days:

May 2

  • 700 Hallway - Math

  • 600 Hallway - ELA

May 6

  • 500 & 400 Hallways plus Portables - ELA

  • 600 Hallway - Math

  • Algebra 1 (half of the students)

May 8

  • 700 Hallway - ELA

  • 500 & 400 Hallways plus Portables - Math

  • Algebra 1 (half of the students)

  • Geometry

On May 10, students enrolled in Civics and 8th Grade Science will take the state-mandated tests associated with these courses.

Per state law, the end-of-course exams in Civics, Algebra 1, and Geometry will count as 30 percent of the student's final grade in the course.

On May 21 – May 23, students will take semester exams in courses that did not take state exams. Semester exams are extremely important and will count for 1/7 of the student's semester grade.

Testing Tips

Did you know that the American Pediatric Association recommends that teens sleep between 8 and 10 hours a night? We encourage parents to make sure their students experience a full night's sleep before testing. Also, eating a protein packed breakfast in the morning gives the brain staying power.
