As the new school year approaches, the Okaloosa community is coming together once again to ensure every student starts the year prepared through the annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, August 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Walmart locations in Crestview, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Niceville.
Bluewater ES will be at the Niceville location from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
Held during Florida’s back-to-school tax-free month, Stuff the Bus offers an easy and meaningful opportunity for families and shoppers to give back while they shop. Community members are encouraged to purchase school supplies and donate them on-site to help students in need across Okaloosa County.
In addition to the August 1 event, donation boxes will be placed at various local businesses throughout the county to expand collection efforts. These additional sites will be announced as they are confirmed and shared on the district website and official Facebook page, making it even more convenient for residents to contribute.
Stuff the Bus is made possible through the continued partnership between the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation, the Okaloosa County School District, and The Salvation Army Florida Division – Fort Walton Beach Corps. Together, these organizations are committed to supporting students and families by providing essential school supplies that help set the stage for academic success.
With the community’s support, Stuff the Bus continues to make a meaningful impact—ensuring every student has the tools they need to start the school year ready to learn and succeed.
