Walker Report Card

The Florida Department of Education has updated the Walker Elementary Report Card on the Florida Department of Education eduData portal.  Even though we did not have FSA testing during the 2019-2020 school year, new information has been added (you will notice that the heading at the top reflects the 2018-2019 year due to no testing last year).  There are hard copies of the report available in the front office, in the parent resource center located in the media center, and in full at https://edudata.fldoe.org/ReportCards/Schools.html?school=0731&district=46.  Please contact Lauren McMillan or Kara Elmore if you have any questions about the information included in this report.

Grab-N-Go Meal Service

The District is starting an afternoon meal service (Grab-N-Go) on Monday and Wednesday of next week (Sept. 28th). The sites for pick up will be Riverside, Plew and Wright. Meals will be served from 3:30-5:00. When families pickup meals on Monday, they will receive 2 breakfast/2 lunch meals per child (Monday and Tuesday meals). On Wednesday, families will receive 3 breakfast/3 lunches (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday meals).

FREE Meals for Students

The USDA has recently approved all K-12 students to receive free meals through December 22, 2020. This includes both breakfast and lunch. We offer hot and cold options at both meals. In order for the meal to qualify as free to your student, a fruit and/or vegetable must be taken along with at least two other items. If you have any questions regarding the free meal option for your student, please feel free to contact the school cafeteria manager, or the school food service office at 850-301-3020. For more information, click here.

Walker Title 1

Walker is a Title 1 School, which means we receive funds from the federal government. These funds are determinded by our numbers of students who apply and qualify for free and reduced lunch, however, all Walker students benefit from all materials and services purchased from these funds. Please watch this video to learn more about the federal Title 1 program. Also, please complete this 3 question survey.

20-21 Free & Reduced Lunch

The Free & Reduced Lunch website is open. Please apply whether your student will be in the building or online. We do have paper copies of the application in our front office for those who do not have internet access. Please remember you must apply every year.

For our Owls who will be starting the year online: in order to receive a device from the school/district, you must have qualified for free/reduced lunch. If you do qualify, you are also eligible to pick up breakfast and lunch each day. More information about this to follow.
