Southside Implements Crayola Recycling Program

Southside Primary School has coordinated with Crayola to implement an amazing new recycling program to turn used makers into energy. Southside students and teachers will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. The markers will then be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel which can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals, and more! Drop-off boxes are located in the front office as well as the cafeteria.

The program, which started January 4th, is spearheaded by Morgan Jones and Lisa Jones. The recycling program will accept any brand or type of used markers, including Permanent, Expo, Vis-s-is, etc.

“This a wonderful program, teaching our students about recycling and the importance of preserving our environment!” said Jones.
