Sacred Heart Hospital Makes Book Donation

Sacred Heart Hospital of the Emerald Coast recently donated 800 new books to Okaloosa County School District. This generous donation not only benefits students of Okaloosa County School District, but remembers local artist and author Bronwen Ross, who passed away in 2009.

Assistant Superintendent Marcus Chambers, members of his staff, and Bluewater Elementary teacher, Ashley Hall, were on hand to accept the donation. “Community partnerships are a big reason why our schools are successful,” said Chambers.

With the help of local high school leadership groups, Emerald Coast Peer Learning Initiative, Fort Walton Beach Woman’s Club, and ADK Retired Teachers each book will be wrapped and delivered to Okaloosa County’s youngest readers in kindergarten and first grade.
