Meigs MS Archery Team Places Second in State and Qualifies For NASP Nationals Tournament

Twenty-two members of the Meigs Middle School Wildcat Archery Team recently competed in the National Archery in the Schools (NASP) State Archery Tournament.  The Meigs team posted an excellent score of 3113 which not only captured the second place in the state position but also qualified the entire team to participate in the NASP Nationals Tournament which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky in May.

This is not unfamiliar territory for the team in that this is the third year in which the team has qualified for NASP Nationals, however, this is their highest placement thus far.  Each year, through hard work and practice, the team has achieved continuous improvement moving from fourth in the state to now second.  The team coaches Don and Jeannie Myrick, Brian Bludworth, and Lisa Svergeko are working three days a week to prepare the team for Nationals where they hope to place in the top quartile of middle school teams in the nation.

The team members are: Ti Bowser, Kaylie Chandler, Jacob Finch, Peri Finkel, Jasmine Hornbaker, Kris Ireland, Paige Letteleir, Madison Mall, Ava Pierce, Laura Price, Candace Ruskowski, Aubrey Scamahorn, Anna Sura, Emma Turek, Alaina Bludworth, Jasmine Daugard, Reece Fudella, Angel Jackson, Mikayla Lucenti, Titus Thornell, Trent Tolbert, and Morgan Young.
