Bruner MS Students Benefit from Art Education Program

Bruner Middle School has partnered with Abrakadoodle-Northwest Florida to provide art education to its art students. Abrakadoodle is bringing its comprehensive, multi-art, standards-based education program to twenty-seven eager artists this semester, engaging them in hands-on visual arts learning that builds skills, confidence and creativity. Students will learn about artists, art forms, art styles, art techniques, as well as art history and art vocabulary in a program that exceeds state and national standards for visual arts education.

According to John Spolski, Principal of Bruner Middle, “We welcome Abrakadoodle and look forward to adding high quality art education to our program, which we feel will strengthen our educational experiences for all of our students.”

“We are honored to partner with Bruner Middle to bring beneficial art programs to its students,” said Erin Bakker, Director of Abrakadoodle-NWF. “With our emphasis on process art, students will develop important creative thinking and problem solving skills while expressing their individuality as they create original art.”

Abrakadoodle has developed educational concepts delivered to nearly two million children in eleven countries. Abrakadoodle’s “Art in Our World” program is offered in schools and ensures that students receive a comprehensive, multi-art, standards-based program that features a trained art specialist, as well as safe, non-toxic materials and art supplies. Abrakadoodle’s curriculum is multicultural and offers cross-curricular art connections while teaching students about line, form, color mechanics, visual arts skills development and opportunities for creative exploration.
