Anna Keim, Ruckel MS, Wins District’s Art in the Capital Competition

The Art in the Capitol Competition is a statewide visual arts competition that requires each school district to annually hold an art competition for all students grades 6 through 8 attending public schools, private schools and home education.

During the week of October 16-20, 2017, student entries were displayed in the hallway gallery at the school district’s Curriculum and Instruction offices.  On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, judges viewed all entries and selected Ruckel Middle School student, Anna Keim’s drawing entitled Epic as the Best in Show winner.

  • 2nd place—Katie Etan, Lion, batik
  • 3rd place—Samantha Feldman, Butterfly Garden, batik

Picture of the Art in the Captial Winner's pictureAnna’s winning entry, above, was submitted to Representative Mel Ponder’s office for delivery to the State Capitol Building where it will be displayed with other districts’ winning entries during the spring Congressional session.
