Introducing Ms. Cherie MATHeson

Ms. MATHeson will be teaching 8th (10th) grade Geometry Honors and 7th (9th) grade Algebra I Honors this school year.

My name is Cherie MATHeson. This is my 29th year teaching in Okaloosa County. School! I have taught at Baker, Richbourg (the old one) and taught 19 years at Davidson Middle School in Crestview. I’m looking forward to getting to know your child and getting this year started! It is important that we all work together as a team in order to help your child succeed. If you ever have any questions, please give me a call, send me an email or a note via your student. I will get back with you as soon as I possibly can. I will hand out more information about my classroom expectations and policies at Open House. If you cannot attend, I will make sure that your student receives that very same information to bring home to you.

I am excited to be a part of the STEMM Stinger family!

HOBBIES and INTERESTS: My husband, Scott and I love riding on our motorcycle, so much so that we took a 32 day cross country trip from Niceville to California and back! We tried to hit all the sights along the way including riding the Mother Road Route 66! Cruising and traveling in between work and bike rides fill up the rest of our time. Be it spending a week in a cabin in the mountains of Tennessee watching bears outside our door or a week aboard a cruise ship going to Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao and 4-wheeling along the Caribbean coast, we just love to get out and see as much as we can. With Scott being retired military, we are very patriotic.  Last year, we rode our motorcycle with friends up to Rolling Thunder in Washington D.C. If you’ve never heard of it, please google it.  Our trip home was riding the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway. BREATHTAKING!

PERSONAL: My two children, Cindi and Buck, are both University of Florida graduates….GO GATORS!! They have degrees in landscape architecture/architecture. They have worked on some amazing projects including the Gondola Plaza in Aspen, Colorado, the Helyx Bridge in Gainesville and my daughter’s latest is a $6 million Depot Park project. I’m a proud mom!

REMIND: I use Remind to post weekly lesson plans as well as to send out other information. Please sign up as soon as possible.
