Speech and Debate

STEMM Academy offers a Speech and Debate team that participates in competitions with other Okaloosa County Schools.

This team is especially for students who love to debate, embrace rhetoric and see him or herself in politics one day.  Also, there are competitive divisions for students who are dramatic, gifted in the theater arts, enjoy acting, connect with poetry, are passionate about prose and more.  You should come and bring a friend.  There are solo, group and duo divisions.

2017 - 2018 Team Sponsor: Ms. Smith

On February 10, 2018, STEMM hosted a middle school speech and debate tournament from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The competing schools were STEMM Academy, Ruckel Middle School, and Bruner Middle School.  Students competed in five different events:  oratory speech, interpretative speech, public forum debate, Lincoln Douglas debate, and congressional debate.  Many of our students here at STEMM took home medals for their events.
