Kimberly Gasaway has over 22 years in the field of education and is currently certified to teach in Florida, Texas, and Iowa.  Prior to relocating to Niceville, Mrs. Gasaway worked for Davenport Community Schools in Iowa as the Science/STEM Curriculum and Instructional Specialist.  During this time, she worked with the Lt. Governor and community partners to advance STEM education and FIRST programs in the district and community through teacher education and grant opportunities. 

In 2005, Ms. Gasaway was awarded the Lyondell Educator’s Excellence Award and received a full fellowship to participate in scientific research collaboration between Drexel University and Earthwatch.  This fellowship led to summer employment opportunities where Mrs. Gasaway worked as a Teen Team Facilitator for Earthwatch on Diamondback Terrapin Field Research Expeditions in Barnegat Bay, New Jersey.  She also has dedicated herself to the education initiative supported by ServeHaiti and has traveled to Haiti several times to work with teachers in Grand Bois to strengthen science content and effective instructional strategies. 

Mrs. Gasaway received her Educational Specialists degree in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University, a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from Sam Houston State University. 

Mrs. Gasaway loves teaching Earth and Space Science and teaching at the middle school!  She has two children, Connor who is 19 and in Engineering school in Colorado, and Hannah who is 16 and a junior at Niceville High School and on the softball team.  Her husband of 21 years is Blake” to “She has two children, Connor and Hannah, and is married to BlakeS They have Stella (a Golden Retriever) and 2 cats (Katniss and Gatsby).  In her free time, Mrs. Gasaway loves to go to the beach, fish, paddleboard, kayak, scuba dive, and travel with her family.
