Ms. Berger has a BA in Journalism and a Masters in Educational Leadership. Following college, she worked as a news editor in Oklahoma City before moving to Okinawa, Japan, where she ran the US Marine Corps Publicity Department on Camp Butler. Prior to leaving the island, she began the Marine Corps first Information, Tickets, and Tours Program, which featured a popular Battle of Okinawa Tour. When her family moved to Niceville, she worked for SYMVIONICS as a marketing director supporting the worldwide Navy Housing program. During that time, she had supported many of her children’s interests in and out of school, including starting a free children’s theater that more than 120 children participated in either as actors, directors, or lighting and sound technicians.

She is now entering her 13th year as a teacher in Okaloosa County. Her first year was as a fine arts teacher at Ocean City Elementary. Unfortunately, the school closed, but it offered Ms. Berger the opportunity to design a gifted program for several schools in Crestview, where she taught gifted and remediation classes. During those years, she coached many teams (robotics, Odyssey, academic) and sponsored a morning news show. She loved working with the groups! Her “Great Innovators” robotics team earned a 1st place in Core Values at State, and two of her Odyssey teams placed at State (6th and 7th). For the past six years, she has taught language arts, civics and American history at the Northwest Florida Ballet Academie. She is very proud of her students’ achievements, which have routinely placed them among the highest performing schools in the district.
Now, she is at the top performing school in the state and is very excited to be a part of this high performing team! “My hope is to help instill a love for lifelong learning in all my students!”
