Stuff the Bus

Stuff the Bus, previously known as Cram the Van, is United Way Emerald Coast's annual back to school supply drive that helps local students in need. All donated supplies will be distributed to Okaloosa and Walton County schools.
Help us "Stuff the Bus" at our Collection Day Event on July 31, 2021 at the Crestview, Niceville, and Fort Walton Beach Walmart locations.

Required Immunizations for 7th graders

Students entering, attending, or transferring to seventh grade in Florida schools are required to have: One dose of tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis vaccine (Tdap).

When your student has received his/her the required (Tdap) Tetanus booster for 7th grade, we must have a copy on file at the school.  Please contact Mrs. Cheryl Miller to schedule a time to drop off the updated Florida Certification of Immunization (Form DH680) or email as an attachment to

Students will not be able to receive their schedule or start school without proper immunization.


Mustang Round-Up

Hello future Mustangs! Click the link below to sign up for 6th grade and new student orientation. This is ONLY for upcoming 6th grade students and NEW 7th and 8th grade students coming to Shoal River Middle School. This will be a brief (approx. 10-15 minutes) walk through of the school. Please be aware that only one caregiver may attend and that no additional siblings or family members may enter at this time. We look forward to seeing you!

Okaloosa County School District Summer Bridge Resources

The Okaloosa County School District Summer Bridge materials and activities on the county website are optional resources to aid in students practicing skills and strategies throughout the summer. The materials should be completed over time. Children may need help in completing some materials.

2021 Congressional Apps Challenge

We are excited to announce that the 2021 Congressional Apps Challenge will be open for registration in just two, short weeks and is now open for pre-registration! Dozens of students have already preregistered and it is important to preregister as soon as possible so that students may begin working on their apps over the summer. We will be sending out reminder emails over the summer and once school is back in session regarding the competition.

Please copy and paste the link below into your web browser to preregister students. If a student is preregistered, they will automatically be entered into the competition when the Online Submission Portal opens, June 24th.
