Information on Free Meals

Early last week, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture announced that that they were extending a program which allows Free Breakfast and Lunches to be provided to school students through December 22, 2020. Hispanic Heritage Month Contest

We are celbrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th, 2020 - October 15th, 2020. If you are interested in participating in the Hispanic Heritage Month Contest for the chance to win a 4-Year Florida College Plan scholarship provided by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. MySchoolOnline student schedules are posted on Parent Portal. Online teachers will make contact with all of their students within the first week of school.

Class Schedules

Student schedules will be available to view on parent portal on Thursday, August 27 beginning at 12:00 PM.  You will need your student’s ID number to view schedules.
To view schedules you may go to the parent portal by clicking HERE
Instructions once you have arrived to the parent portal:
  1. Type in student’s 10-digit ID number.
  2. Enter PIN number (this will be the last 4 digits of your student’s ID number). 
  • Schedule changes will not be honored except for academic purposes.
  • The school cannot honor teacher requests/changes.
  • Due to the class size guidelines, administration has the right to make any necessary schedule changes. 

Health Tech

Shoal River Middle School's Health Tech will be onsite Wednesday, August 26th - Friday, August 28th, 2020.

Please email Ms. Giulia Allen at to set up an appointment to take your students required medications. 


The Principal's Message

Mustang Families, 

We are working hard to get updates to you as quickly as possible as our plans come together for the 2020-2021 school year. We are happy to announce that we have decided to go to block scheduling which will allow fewer transitions between classes and provide more instructional time to our students. We are diligently working on scheduling for both in school and online students. It is very important that you take the following actions: 

  • Download the iOSCD App and follow SRMS - this will link you to all of our social media and website updates and will help you connect with each teacher

  • Follow Okaloosa County School District on social media for up to the moment updates

  • Complete the application for Free and Reduced Lunches by going to

  • 7th grade students should ensure that proper immunization records and/or other documentation have been submitted

We look forward to the first day of school on August 31st, 2020 and will continue to provide you with informaton as it becomes availible. Be safe and enjoy the last bit of summer break.

6th Grade and New Student Orientation - August 26.

Follow the link below to sign up for 6th grade and new student orientation. ONLY for new 7th and 8th grade students to SRMS. This will be a brief (approx. 10 minute) walk through of the school. A digital video will be posted for those who are unable to attend. Please note only one caregiver may attend and that no additional siblings may enter at this time. Online Registration Portal

Superintendent Marcus Chambers has announced the opening of a new OCSD Registration Portal for the 2020-21 School Year. Through the portal, parents can complete most of the registration process online from home. The Registration Portal can be found at the District’s website, in the Parents/Students section and on individual school websites.
