Shalimar Elementary will be hosting Orientation for the 2013-2014 school year on Friday, August 16th.  The schedule is as follows:

8:00- 9:00  Kindergarten

9:15- 10:45- 1st and 2nd

11:00- 12:30- 3rd, 4th and 5th

PTO and SAC Meetings on Tuesday, July 30th

There will be SAC and PTO meetings on Tuesday, July 30th at 3:00 and 3:30 in the Media Center.  The PTO meeting will immediately follow the SAC meeting.  These meetings are open to the public and we invite you to attend.  Thank you for your continued support!


Back to School Bash @ Shalimar United Methodist

Shalimar United Methodist Church is hosting a Back to School Bash on Friday, August 2 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. It will feature a free health fair, free eye exams, free haircuts, free backpacks, free sneakers, free school supplies, crafts, free food, and more! Principal's Message


Dolphin Family,

Wow, how time flies!  It has been an exciting year of learning and growing here at Shalimar.  In addition to the growing, we are also changing as we prepare for the Common Core standards.  If you, as a parent, are not familiar with these national standards, I encourage you to become familiar by visiting our school and district webpage and accessing links to learn about this major shift in the way we will educate your child.  Our staff has, and will continue to be, trained in order to deliver excellent instruction based on these standards.  Other changes will occur to our physical building and procedures to promote safety and security.  Change can make us feel uncomfortable, but only if we let it! 

Finally, this summer break should provide you the opportunity for rest and relaxation.  One of the best ways to relax and calm the mind is to read.  Please remember that reading with your child every night will help them a great deal with being prepared for next school year.  You might also find ways to work in some basic math fact practice.  Remember that the main office is open all summer and staff members are on-hand to help you in any way possible.  I hope you have a wonderful summer filled with fun and laughter!

Order Next Year's School Supplies Now!

Shalimar Elementary is pleased to offer our families the opportunity to purchase school supplies for next year.   Instead of having to shop around for school supplies, you can order them now and they will be waiting in your child’s classroom on the first day of school!  This can be done either by sending in your order (click here for order form; payment via cash or checks made out to Shalimar Elementary School) to the school or by ordering online with a credit card no later than June 28th

The cost will be either $25 or $35 per student/ grade, depending on whether or not you add $10 for the requested donation items.

To order online,

  1. Go to; (sales tax will be added at checkout)
  2. Enter the school ID, SHA177
  3. Follow the directions to complete your order.
  4. Keep your online confirmation as your receipt.
