1001070 Language Arts 3 The purpose of this course is to provide and promote academic excellence in reading, writing, and oral communication to include critical and analytical skills.
1001080 Language Arts 3 Advanced The  purpose of  this  course is to provide and  promote academic excellence in reading, writing, and oral communication to include critical and analytical thinking skills. The pacing is accelerated with an increase in rigor to include additional reading and writing requirements.
1205070 Grade 8 Pre-Algebra The purpose of this course is to extend the traditional 8th grade curriculum through horizontal enrichment and vertical acceleration, leading to mastery of appropriate skills from the middle grades standards of excellence.  The content should include, but not be limited to real numbers, probability, statistics, geometry, algebra, graphing, numeration system, consumer-related applications, problem solving, and knowledge of the use of calculators and computers.
1200320Z  Algebra 1 Honors This is a weighted high school credit course and the purpose of this course is to provide the foundation for more advanced mathematic courses, and to develop the algebraic concepts and processes that can be used to solve a variety of  world mathematical problems. 
1206320Z  Geometry Honors This is a weighted high school credit course and the  purpose of this course is to develop the geometric relationships and deductive strategies that can be used to solve a variety of real world and mathematical problems.
2003010 Physical Science The purpose of this course is to provide opportunities to study the concepts of matter, energy, and forces of energy through exploratory investigations, activities, and applications.
2003020 Physical Science Advanced The purpose of this course is to provide opportunities to study the concepts of matter, energy, and forces of energy through exploratory investigations, activities, and applications. The course will include advanced reading and vocabulary, and long term individual projects which should include the incorporation of technology.Students are expected to be self-motivated to meet the increased demands and rigor of this more in-depth course.
2003320A/B Physical Science Honors This is a fast paced weighted high school credit course which provides opportunities to study the concepts of atomic theory, chemical reactions, nuclear physics, Newton's laws, vector analysis, energy principles, gravity, projectile motion, fluid mechanics, electricity, magnetism, and the electromagnetic spectrum. Students will conduct many lab investigations, including data analysis with computers. Participation in the science fair is required. Students registering for this course must have taken or be enrolled in Algebra 1 Honors.
2100015 United States History & Career Planning The purpose of this course is to provide students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of the heritage of the United States through 1877.   Students will participate in aptitude surveys to determine careers for which they might be suited and also explore different facets of these careers.

2100025 US History Advanced & Career Planning The purpose of this course is to enable students to understand the development of the United States within the context of history through 1877.  Students will participate in aptitude surveys to determine careers for which they might be suited and also explore different facets of these careers. Students will be required to participate in higher order learning strategies and activities.
1508070 Physical Education Students will participate in team sports, fitness challenges, and cooperative games. Students are required to dress out in workout clothing and tennis shoes.  A $20.00 Physical Education donation will be accepted at the beginning of the year. 
1508050 Individual /Dual Sports The purpose of this course is to enable students to improve physical fitness through participation in specific exercises designed to improve performance in games, sports, gymnastics, dance, and individual and developmental activities and to evaluate physical activities in terms of fitness values.  A $20.00 Physical Education donation will be accepted at the beginning of the school year.
0101005 M/J Exploring Two-Dimensional Art (1st Sem.)  Students use a variety of media and techniques to create 2- d works, which include drawing, painting, and collage. This course incorporates hands on activities and consumption of art materials.
0101035 M/J Exploring Three-Dimensional Art (2nd Sem.) Students learn to translate what they learned   in 2-d art into 3-d forms using materials that include paper mache` and found objects among other things. This course incorporates hands-on activities and consumption of art materials.
9009200 Coding Fundamentals What's behind the screen? Learn computer coding software, programming languages, gain knowledge skills & application techniques for operating systems & programming.  Finish out the class programming with a circuit playground.  Students will have an opportunity to earn a Digital Tools Certificate.
9009500 Fundamentals of Web and Software Development Gain proficiency navigating the internet.  Learn and Master HTML and CSS commands.  Explore Web page design through coding projects.  Students will have an opportunity to earn the MTA Into to Programming Using HTML & CSS industry certification.  Class serves as a prerequisite for 9001110: Foundations of Web Design. 
9001110A/B Foundations of Web Design Explore deeper and hone your skills with advanced HTML & CSS. Continue adding knowledge to your toolbox.  Earn the MTS HTML5 Application Developer Fundamentals industry certification.  All while earning high school credit.  Prerequisite: 9009500
0103000 Digital Art and Design 1 Students explore the fundamental concepts, terminology, techniques, and  programs applications of digital imaging to create original work. This class includes learning how to better understand their work through peer/self-evaluations and critiques.
0103010 Digital Art and Design 2 Students will continue to advance their exploration of the elements and principles of design, technique, and programs of digital photography to create original work.  This course involves individual group work/self-evaluation, and critiques.     
1302100 Band The purpose of this course is to provide students with opportunities to develop musicianship skills in band and instrumental ensembles.  The content allows students to develop fundamental skills in characteristic tone production, band performance techniques, musical literacy, and music appreciation.  There is one required concert in the fall semester, and one to two concerts in the spring.  Some before school rehearsals may be required. 
1303020 Chorus The purpose of this course is to provide students with experience in basic vocal production techniques and part singing.  Content enables the student basic fundamental skills in vocal tone production, choral performance techniques, musical literacy, and music appreciation.  Three required performances.  Some before school rehearsals may be required.
0708000 Beginning Spanish This course will focus on preparing students for Spanish at the high school level. Students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar in addition to exploring the cultures of Spanish speaking countries.
0708532 Spanish 1 The purpose of this high school credit course is to enable students to begin to acquire proficiency in Spanish through a linguistic, communicative and cultural approach to language learning. Emphasis is placed on the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and on the acquisition of the fundamentals of applied grammar.
0705000 Beginning Italian Beginning Italian introduces students to the target language and its culture.  Students will learn beginning skills in listening and speaking and an introduction to basic skills in reading and writing.  Also, culture, connections, comparisons, and communities are included in this one year course.
0705010 Intermediate Italian Introduces students to the target language and its culture.  Students will learn beginning skills in listening and speaking and an introduction to basic skills in reading and writing.  Also, culture, connections, comparisons, and communities are included in this one-year course. 
1000010 Intensive Reading This course is required for students scoring a Level 1 on FSA ELA.  It is recommended for students scoring a lower Level 2 on FSA ELA.
8600020 Exploration of Robotics /STEMM (FSA Math Level 5) In the Exploration of Robotics course, students will learn all about the nature of technology and problem solving using robotics as the platform.  Students have opportunities to study the scope of technology and its impacts on society.  They learn about the core concepts of technology and about the various approaches to solving problems, including engineering design and experimentation.  Students participate in engineering-design activities to understand how criteria, constraints, and processes affect designs.  Students are involved in activities and experiences where they learn about brainstorming, visualizing, modeling, constructing, testing experimenting, and refining designs.  Students also develop skills in researching for information, and communicating design information.  Students will have the opportunity to learn a digital tool certificate. 
1400000 COMPASS Compass helps students set a course to navigate middle school and community life.  This class will explore critical decision making, ethics, leadership, values, personal-management, and interpersonal skills using images, class discussion, case studies, student journals, video clips, classroom activities, individual and group projects, and community service.  Required: 3 hours service outside of class time per semester.
