WEB DESIGN & CODING FUNDAMENTALS COURSES

Dear students and families,

My hope is that by the end of this course you have a new appreciation for web design courses and will continue your education in the subject.

In this letter you will find basic information about the course in the iCEV platform as well as resources for ensuring your success in online education. The course will be conducted in icevonline.com and everything for your success will be found there. Click here and follow the instructions below to register. Please, check the videos below to see how to register if you are having trouble. 

Below are the the invite codes to each period:

  • 1st period registration code is OKAMANNU001

  • 2nd period registration code is OKAMANNU002

  • 3rd period registration code is  OKAMANNU003

  • 4th period registration code is OKAMANNU004

  • 5th period registration code is OKAMANNU005

  • 6th period registration code is OKAMANNU006

  • DIT student code is OKAMANNU007

After entering the registration code, fill in your information and choose a username and password. Click "Submit". After clicking the "Submit" button, the course will appear on your (the student’s) "My Courses" page.

The following table shows what lessons in the Career Exploration course MUST be completed by April 3rd. This course has a variety of lessons. Each lesson includes student notes, lectures, and assessments. All of the activities in the lesson must be complete by the chosen deadline.
 
*If you complete Career Cluster Interest Inventory easily, then go ahead and move on to Jobs, Careers & Education lesson. The latter will be due the following week.

Supplemental Coding Assignment:

Many coding assignments will be posted in the OCDS Online Assignments as supplemental to iCEV lessons. Since these assignments are optional, students, who decide to complete them, will receive extra credit.

PLEASE NOTE: DIT course: please download GMETRIX. It's free and don't forget to login in with your school email address and password. If you have passed Word and Excel, please login into SAM and complete all of the assignments that ends in PPT (which refers to PowerPoint) by the end of this semester.

Gradebook Information

All student should be aware that each activity (student notes, assessments, etc.) is graded. You can take an assessment multiple times. Your gradebook for the 4th 9 weeks will reflect your performance achieved in the Career Exploration unit; therefore, it is imperative you complete the lessons in a timely manner. 

Recommended Coding Activities:

Also, begin downloading Notepad++ online (version 7.5.6 would be ideal!). We will go back to coding projects soon so please be prepared!
