High School Advanced Academic Opportunities

Students, if you seek more challenging work and plan to graduate from college, it's important to build a strong foundation for success.

In high school, there are courses for advanced students. These courses are more difficult: they move quicker and require more homework. If your grades are good and you feel ready for more challenging work, talk to the guidance counselor about the requirements for enrolling in advanced courses.

Other opportunities for academic success include becoming involved in math teams, Odyssey of the Mind and academic teams. Competing in the science fair is another good way to challenge yourself academically.

All of these opportunities have one common factor: they require discipline and commitment.

Take advantage of what your school offers. Keep up with what is happening at school and don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for help. We are here to serve you and to help every student realize his potential.

Check with your child's school to see which advanced courses are offered.
