Mental Health and Wellness Instruction

Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislators recently enacted two new legislative requirements regarding mental health and safety. The first rule requires public schools to provide instruction to students related to youth substance use and abuse health education. OCSD will meet this requirement through Red Ribbon Week activities focusing on age appropriate drug prevention lessons and activities. The second rule requires public schools to provide instruction related to child trafficking prevention and awareness. OCSD has chosen to continue to use Monique Burr Foundation for Children's Child/Teen Safety Matters Programs to meet this requirement. Click here for more information.
