Minority Council Flyer

The FWBHS Minority Student Council is sponsored by Mr. Anthony Bryant and Ms. Susan Miller.

 

The mission of the Minority Student Council is to increase awareness, cultivate inclusiveness, and develop mutual respect for diversity by providing an opportunity for students of all races to celebrate their culture, lifestyle, and history.

 

Membership is based on application approval. Below is an outline of activities for the year. Fundraising will be required for some activities to take place.

 

·       Possible Field trips: FAMU, UWF, The Justice and Lynching Museums in Montgomery, AL

·       Possible involvement in local MLK parade

·       Black History month – announcements, perhaps attend local events

·       In-school displays: flyers, bulletin board, murals or projects for different events to create awareness and visibility

·       Once-a-month meeting directly after school on the first Wednesday of each month

·       Presence in the yearbook

·       Pep rally participation

·       Community service

·       T shirts via fund raising event

·       Parent support when needed

 

Members must earn a required number of points each quarter to remain an active member of the Minority Student Council. Failure to earn the required number of points will result in probation and/or dismissal from the council. The Executive Committee will determine the number of points that must be acquired for mandatory student council events.
