Okaloosa County School District student leaders revitalize the Military Child Education Coalition “Student 2 Student” (S2S) program at Choctawhatchee High School, Crestview High School, Fort Walton Beach High School, Niceville High School, and Ruckel Middle School.

Articles - 2020 National Merit Finalists

Bethany Ann Jowers, Fort Walton Beach High School, and Jackson Cook, Dane Dickerson, and Sara Strunk, all from Niceville High School, have been named National Merit® Scholarship Finalists.

The four Okaloosa County students were selected from the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2019 and have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. The selection of some 7,500 Merit Scholarship winners is now in progress.

Articles - 2020 - MLK Contest

Over a hundred Okaloosa County students participated in this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical and Poster Contest on January 11th at Northwest Florida State College. Sponsored by Sigma Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, every participant received a medallion; and all First, Second, and Third place winners in each category received a trophy. 1st Place winners in the oratorical and poster contest also received a monetary award, the opportunity to showcase their winning speech and display their winning poster at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
