Tropical Storm Gordon

This is a School District safety bulletin brought to you on behalf of Superintendent of Schools, Mary Beth Jackson.

School District officials have been monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Gordon and have been in communication with the Office of Emergency Management Operations. Based on the current forecasts and Gordon's present track, schools will be open tomorrow and resume regular schedules. School District officials will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the night and tomorrow.

New Administrators

At the August 27, 2018, School Board meeting April Branscome was named Program Director, Career and Technical Education; Lindsay Maxey was named Program Director, Human Resources; Andy Johnson was named Program Director, Student Services, Discipline, and Athletics; and Pat Dombrowski was named Specialist, Exceptional Student Education, Curriculum, and Instruction.

In an effort to spotlight the diverse capabilities that exist among the area’s technical businesses, the Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County’s TeCMEN (Technology Coast Manufacturing & Engineering Network) Committee held an Industry Day event at the Emerald Coast Convention Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL on Thursday, August 23, 2018.
