We all have been moved by the devastation from Hurricane Michael, and the impact that it has had on the communities and families that are all too close to our own. As a school district, we reached out to offer our assistance to the schools and children of these affected school districts. The response was for items to help their children stay occupied with positive activities.
We asked for each family to donate a toy, board or card games, books, comics, coloring books, crayons, art supplies. All donations will be delivered directly to the shelters in Bay County on Wednesday.
Okaloosa Schools are ready and waiting to support families displaced by Hurricane Michael that are seeking to enroll their students. We understand that Internet service is not available in many areas, so we are relying on friends and relatives to send word to their loved ones that their students are welcome to enroll here for as long as needed.
