FWBHS AFJROTC Wins Braves Invitational Drill Meet

Fort Walton Beach High School’s AFJROTC Drill teams competed in the Braves Invitational Drill Meet at Walton High School on Saturday March 3rd. The Freshman team, commanded by Chris Kerle took first place in the Drill Team and Color Guard event, and our Unarmed Regulation team, commanded by Cadet Jade Zenger, took second place.

This competition allows cadets to continue drilling closer to the end of the school year without losing interest in drill. This drill also serves to foster “esprit de corps” and encourages healthy competition between units from other schools and services. Cadet participation in this event enhances enthusiasm and retention; assists in recruiting, and maintains unit cohesiveness and morale.
