IT Instructors Attend Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference

Fort Walton Beach and Choctawhatchee High Schools teamed up to represent the Okaloosa County School District as America's Teachers at the innovative and informative Interservice/ Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, Florida.

The I/ITSEC is the world's largest modeling, simulation, and training conference and is organized by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA), which promotes international and interdisciplinary cooperation within the fields of modeling and simulation (M&S), training, education, analysis, and related disciplines at this annual meeting. The NTSA is an affiliate subsidiary of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Hence, I/ITSEC also emphasizes themes related to defense and security.

“The Professional Development workshops delivered massive information geared towards the future of military simulation and medical simulation,” said Anthony Bryant, Fort Walton Beach High School CHOICE IT Instructor.  Bryant and Sean McSheehy, Choctawhatchee High School, also got to see what Hollywood's cutting edge effects specialist are bringing to the modeling and simulation industry. One of the main questions posed by many of the leaders at the conference was, “How can we bring this to classrooms across the nation.”
