NHS Debate team students qualified and competed at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas, Texas, June 16 – 21. June Simrun Sharma, senior, competed in Original Oratory and placed as an Octafinalist and four-year national qualifier; Eshaan Sharma , a junior, qualified and competed in International Extemporaneous Debate, and Elva Diaz, a senior, qualified and competed in World Schools Debate.

Football Season Tickets

Current reserved, season-ticket holders for Niceville High School football may purchase their 2019 reserved season tickets on July 18, 19, 22,23,24, 2019 from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm in the front hallway of Niceville High School. The cost is $60.00 each which covers all six of the home games. Remaining season tickets will be on sale to the general public on July 26, 2019 starting at 8:00 a.m. If you have any questions, call Margo at (850) 496-1690 or the main office at (850) 833-4114.
 


 

NHS CTE Students Win KinderVision Teen PSA Video Challenge for Second Year in a Row

NHS CTE Students

Niceville High School Career and Technical Education (C.T.E.) Digital Video Technology students won the KinderVision Teen PSA Program Regional and Statewide video challenge for the second year in a row for the first time ever.

Students utilized filming, motion graphics, and digital special effects in order to produce a 30-second Public Service Announcement covering a wide array of social dangers that target today’s teens.

NHS Theater Department Receives Donation

NHS Theater Department Receives Donation Group Picture

Several Niceville High School (NHS) alumni recently donated $3000 to the NHS’s Theatre Department. The funds were specifically donated to help purchase a much-needed upgrade to the sound system in the auditorium.  The alumni presented the check to Ritchie Jackson, NHS Theatre director, and several of his students.

NHS IT Students Win Congressional App Challenge

Congressional App Award

Niceville High School students Ethan Shelstad, Sam Cota, and Josh Delamater recently won the First Congressional District of Florida Congressional App Challenge. They were invited to Capitol Hill for the House of Code reception where they were welcomed by Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. At the reception, NHS students were offered $10,000 for their app, which they declined. In addition, their app was mentioned during the Capitol Hill address of Congressman French Hill of Arkansas as one of the best apps developed this year. It was a wonderful educational experience for the students. The students are looking forward to the next app challenge.

2019 NEST Registration

Welcome to the Eagles NEST (New Eagles Soaring Together), Niceville’s summer program that introduces you to the experiences and opportunities that we have to offer. The NEST program is meant to help you have a smooth transition into the next phase of your education—HIGH SCHOOL! Much of your future success depends on the efforts and choices you make starting your freshman year. In order to get started on the right foot, you are invited to attend this informational yet fun-filled transition program: EAGLEPALOOZA.

Where: Begin each day in the Niceville High School Cafeteria with 400 of your new best friends
When: Wednesday, July 17th and Thursday, July 18th Time: 9 AM to 1 PM
Cost: $25 (includes t-shirt, NEST materials, and lunch each day)
Next Step: Fill out the NEST Registration Form. Place in an envelope with your payment and return to your front office by May 17th. After May 17th, please return forms and payment to Niceville High School.
