Wright ES Students Win Awards in Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical and Poster Contest

Several Wright Elementary School students participated in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical and Poster Contest recently held at Fort Walton Beach High School and all of them received awards.

Cam’Ron Lewis placed first in the Elementary division of the Oratorical Contest with his short essay and speech about Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Marcella Barringer placed third with her speech, and Aniyah Smedley placed fourth.

Zarayah Alexander placed third in the elementary poster contest division.

Cam’Ron expressed surprise and excitement at his first place award.  He memorized his speech, and his speech reminded us that “teamwork makes the dream work!”

Several teachers, including Minerva Gadsden, Minerva Robinson, Kathy Boyte, and Faith McElroy worked with the students to help them prepare for this annual event.
