School Board Approves New Administrator

Dan Bohannon was named Assistant Principal of Fort Walton Beach High School at the October 26th Okaloosa County School Board Meeting.

Dan Bohannon earned his Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, his Master of Education Degree from University of Louisiana at Monroe and his Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

A Biology teacher for 22 years, he has coached Baseball for 32 years, Football for 17 years, and Golf for 7 years.  For the past 8 years, he has been serving as the Dean of Students at Fort Walton Beach High School. 

Dan came to Okaloosa County School District in 1994 from Newberry High School (just outside of Gainesville, Florida) where he began teaching Biology at Fort Walton Beach High School.  He has been married to Kaethe Bohannon for 36 wonderful years, and they have two daughters, Danielle and Dana, both Fort Walton Beach High School graduates.  He also has a son in law, Brandon Adams, and one grandson, Nolan, who is 13 months old.  His mother, Gloria Bohannon, also lives here and is residing in Bob Hope Village.  She was married to Dan's father for nearly sixty years.  He was a Korea and Viet Nam veteran and school teacher for twenty years.
