Manufacturing Technology Open House and Registration Information

Join the Okaloosa County School District’s CHOICE Program and the Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) for a look at the district’s new Manufacturing Technology program on Saturday, May 30 from 9:30am – 11:30am on the NWFSC campus, Building Q-3.

The CHOICE & NWFSC Manufacturing Technology program features a new, hands-on approach to education with a project-based learning program.  Student learning will be thought provoking and challenging and also will replicate the success Germany had had with this instructional technique.  By using design software and a 3-D printer to produce a product they design from beginning to end, students will gain the skills to program and operate the half million dollar equipment in the NWFSC lab.  This will train them for a career in automation and production to fulfill the gap of talented workers for the numerous upcoming jobs in our region.

The program is available for students in 8th to 12th grade and will enable them to become industry certified in SolidWorks and MSSC-CPT (Manufacturing Standards Skills Council-Certified Production Technician) which earns 15 college credits in the high school program.

Transportation will be provided to and from the student’s home high/middle school to the NWFSC campus for high tech training.

Now is the time to register for this amazing state-of-the-art program.  The registration form can be found at http://choice-institutes.com/manuf-academy/. For further information, please call the CHOICE Office at (850) 833-5876 or speak with your school’s guidance counselor.
