LuCretia Waskow Named Choctawhatchee HS Assistant Principal

LuCretia Waskow was named Assistant Principal of Choctawhatchee High School at the June 12, 2017 School Board meeting.  LuCretia earned her BS in Biology in December of 1999 from McMurry University in Texas.   In 2002, she received her Texas teacher certification, got married, and her husband’s military career moved them to Pensacola.  While in Pensacola she taught oceanography and integrated science; as well as biology and honors biology at Gulf Breeze High School in between the hurricanes and tropical storms of 2004 - 2006.

LuCretia and her family transferred back to Texas in 2009.  From 2009 - 2011, she taught chemistry and was tasked with designing and teaching a block integrated science course primarily for at risk students.

From there, it was off to Virginia for 2011 – 2014 where she taught Biology and Chemistry as a floater with all her daily supplies on a cart.  While in Virginia she was able to complete her Master of Arts in in Educational Leadership.

Finally, LuCretia and her family moved back to Florida where they retired from Air Force life and have put down roots.  Her first year with the Okaloosa County School District was spent teaching chemistry at Fort Walton Beach High School before transferring to Niceville High School for the past two years where she has been teaching chemistry and biology.

LuCretia is looking forward to the adventures and challenges that this new position has in store for her.
