Linda Tyce Named Secondary Literacy Coach of the Year for the State of Florida

Linda Tyce has been named the Secondary Literacy Coach of the Year for the State of Florida!

Kevin Smith, President, Florida Literacy Coaches Association, had this to say in an email he sent to Linda announcing her great accomplishment, “Although it was a difficult decision due to the high quality of the candidates, our judges noted the following regarding your strengths:

‘Linda builds relationships and recognizes her role is clarified by the principal and leadership team and revolves around the data-driven needs of teachers.  She keeps current in research and recognizes the expertise of the content area teachers she serves.  She also has a wide range of experience including serving as an adjunct instructor.’”

Linda currently serves as the Literacy Coach for Pryor and Destin Middle Schools.

As the winner, Linda will receive a plaque and a check for $300.  She will also be honored at the Florida Reading Association conference during General Session 3 from 9:15-10:45 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, October 10.  The conference is being held at The Florida Hotel and Conference Center, in Orlando, Florida.

“The only way to be a top performing District is to have top performing teachers, and Linda Tyce is an outstanding example for our District.   This Secondary Literacy Coach of the Year for the State of Florida for Linda is an incredible accomplishment, and we are grateful that she works for our District" said Okaloosa County School District superintendent Mary Beth Jackson. .
