Lewis School Staff Learns to Screen Print Their Own T-Shirts

As part of a professional development workshop, all Okaloosa County School District Art teachers learned how to screen print T-shirts this fall.  Upon returning to Lewis School, art teacher, Bobbie Luna, was so excited about the screen printing process that she began to tell everyone.  When principal, Mike Fantaski, found out, he told Luna, “If it was that much fun....we could all make a screen printed T-shirt as my gift to the staff.”

“So, the ‘Santa is a Falcon Fan too!’ idea was born and we screened eighty-five T-shirts,” said Luna.

The faculty wore their shirts the day Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson came to present the school with their A+ plaque.  In exchange for the plaque, the faculty presented Jackson with a gift.

“It’s a Falcon shirt!” said Jackson.  “I am a Falcon too!”

“A perfect response and immediate success in a room full of Falcon fans!” said Luna.  "I really appreciate the faculty being willing to let me practice my lesson in screen printing on them.....next students!!"
