Gary Taylor Named AP of Bruner Middle School

Gary Taylor was named the Assistant Principal at Bruner Middle School at the March 27, 2017 School Board meeting.

Taylor, a graduate of Crestview High School, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Grades English and Social Science from the University of West Florida and received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Beginning his teaching career in the Okaloosa County School District 13 years ago, Gary has taught English at the middle school and high school level and social science at the middle school level at Baker School.  While at Baker, he served as a football, a basketball and a baseball coach. His desire is to be able to ignite a passion for education in his students.  Gary has served at Davidson Middle School as an assistant principal over discipline and facilities since 2014.

Taylor has been married to Donna Pettis Taylor, a teacher at Bob Sikes Elementary School, for 34 years.  They have four children: Ross 30 and his wife Olivia, Kelsey 26, Andrea 26, and Jonathon 25, as well as nieces Madison 19, and Isabella Cain 16, whom they are raising.  All their children are graduates or are currently attending Okaloosa County Schools.  Gary and his family reside in Baker.

Gary is honored with the appointment to assistant principal at Bruner Middle School and is committed to the students, parents, faculty, staff and administration.
