First Grade Students Celebrate Earth Day at Elliott Point ES

Students in Shakira Oswald’s first grade class at Elliott Point Elementary School celebrated Earth Day on April 22nd by making cups of dirt in honor of learning about habitats of different creatures and how to conserve them.

“The students also learned about protecting all habitats for Earth Day,” stated Oswald.

The students are pictured above with School Resource Officer Deputy Jason Folley, on the left and their teacher, Mrs. Shakira Oswald, on the right.

“The children loved tricking Deputy Folley into thinking they were eating real worms!” said Oswald.
