Edge ES Holds Food Drive for Hunger Awareness Month

Edge Elementary School’s Sodexo kitchen manager, Jeanie Watson, and her staff organized a can food drive during the month of April in recognition of Hunger Awareness Month.  They offered an ice cream party to the class who collected the most nonperishable foods.

Edge students collected 1157 canned and dried food items in 5 days.  The food collected will directly benefit the Children in Crisis and our Local Sharing and Caring offices.

Pictured with the Sodexo staff above is Wendy Wheeler’s second grade class. They were the winners with 101 cans collected.  Terri Murphy’s third grade class was a close 2nd place with 99 cans.
