District Algebra Students Visit With Zach From Algebra Nation

Okaloosa county algebra students in Middle and High School got a real treat when Zach Step and Amy Adams from Algebra Nation came to visit their school April 1st and 2nd. Many students recognized Zach from the Algebra Nation website, which is a highly effective, dynamic online resource that includes video tutorials, an interactive discussion wall, and a practice tool.

Algebra Nation is a collaborative initiative aimed at helping students across Florida conquer the Algebra End-of-Course Exam (EOC), a computer-based exam all algebra students need to pass for graduation credit.

Last year, 50% of high school students who took the Algebra EOC failed.  In response, the University of Florida partnered with Study Edge, an innovative educational technology company, to create Algebra Nation.

Algebra Nation is a result of ongoing collaboration among teachers, professors, administrators, parents, and students.  Algebra Nation provides a platform for everyone to share his or her best ideas and practices.

More than 250,000 students and 3,300 teachers in all 67 Florida districts use Algebra Nation this past school year.
