Cram the Van A Success

Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation representatives joined by students, parents, teachers, and principals from twenty Okaloosa County School District schools, collected 3,854 pounds of school supplies over seven Saturdays!

Soaring temperatures and scattered thunderstorms did not dampen the spirits of the cheerful  volunteers who handed out school supply lists and challenged shoppers to “Help us Cram the Van for Okaloosa District Students!”

The Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation is grateful to the United Way for organizing this annual event and to the participating stores:  Crestview Publix and Wal-Mart Stores in Crestview, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Niceville.

“The generosity of the many customers who donated is remarkable,” said Henry Kelley, Executive Director, Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation and Okaloosa County School District Community Affairs Director.  “Thank you for supporting education, students, and families in Okaloosa County.”
