CHOICE HS To Host Free FAFSA Workshop

Need Cash for College? The CHOICE High School and Technical Center, located at 1976 Lewis Turner Blvd, in Fort Walton Beach, is hosting a free workshop on Saturday, February 21, 2015, to assist students in completing FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Assistance) applications and answer all questions related to college financial planning.  Representatives from the Florida Department of Education will be on hand and the event is open to the public.

What is the FAFSA? Students use this application to apply for federal grants, loans and work-study to assist them in funding their college education. The FAFSA also is required by most state grant programs. In addition, many, if not most, schools require students to submit the FAFSA in order to be considered for institutional grants and scholarships. For a list of things you’ll need to complete the FAFSA, click here.

Representatives will also be answering questions on types of aid available, how to apply, and where to look for student financial assistance.  There will be a computer lab available to give attendees the opportunity to complete (or at least start) their FAFSA.  All students seeking  Post-Secondary Educations are encouraged to complete.

There will be door prizes and an opportunity for attendees to be entered into a drawing for a $250 Scholarship.
