Choice Career and Technical Center Cosmetology Salon and Spa Students Give Back To The Community While Earning Service Credits

The Students from Choice Career and Technical Center Cosmetology Salon and Spa’s Day Program volunteer their time once a month to do free haircuts for the Edge Elementary School students and their families.

“Volunteering helps the Cosmetology students meet their requirements to sit for the state board’s on the required number of services,” said Twyla Hall, one of Choice Career and Technical Center’s Cosmetology Salon and Spa Instructors.

On average the Cosmetology students serve between 30 - 40 clients each month.  Before a student can sit for the state exam, they must have completed at least 75 haircuts.

“The students that volunteer for the haircuts have such a kind spirit and heart,” commented Hall.
